Propane Plus Heating & Cooling is seeking a Director of Safety, Compliance & Training to lead and strengthen our company-wide safety culture, regulatory compliance programs, and employee training initiatives.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing safety operations, DOT/FMCSA compliance, propane industry regulations, employee training, and operational risk management across our propane delivery, HVAC, and service departments.
The ideal candidate is organized, accountable, and capable of building strong systems while maintaining high safety and operational standards in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description:
Director of Safety, Compliance & Training
Location: Rehoboth, MA
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee company safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT/FMCSA, NFPA 54, NFPA 58, and state/local gas codes
• Manage driver qualification files, drug and alcohol testing programs, inspections, and required compliance documentation
• Oversee jurisdictional propane pipeline systems and related compliance requirements
• Coordinate insurance company compliance requirements, audits, inspections, and corrective actions
• Conduct safety meetings, field evaluations, ride-alongs, and ongoing employee training
• Develop onboarding and training programs for drivers, technicians, and operations staff
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and workers compensation claims
• Monitor fleet safety, DVIRs, maintenance schedules, and operational procedures
• Maintain employee licensing, certification, and training records
• Work closely with operations leadership to improve safety, accountability, and overall efficiency
Qualifications
• Previous leadership experience in propane, HVAC, transportation, fuel delivery, or related industries
• Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA, OSHA, and propane industry regulations
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Ability to train, mentor, and hold teams accountable
• Experience managing safety and compliance programs
• Experience with propane installations preferred
Preferred Qualifications
• CETP certifications
• CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
• OSHA certifications
• Experience with propane service and propane delivery operations
