General Manager–Morrisville, PA

The General Manager (GM) of Tyburn Railroad, LLC is responsible for the coordination of all efforts of our transloading operations at the terminal in Morrisville, PA.

Transloading experience highly preferred

Management experience in logistics transload or freight rail operating environment.


This position will directly lead and manage all areas at the facility including the administrative staff, Operations, Yard Supervisor, and hourly Team Members.

The facility specializes in handling diverse types of commodities including but not limited to UCO (used cooking oil), DEF (diesel exhaust fluid), LPG products, natural gasoline, hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals, fertilizers, dry aggregates, and various other commodities via railcars.

This position will also have responsibility for the facilitation of customer support, finances, inventory tracking/ordering, equipment maintenance/repair, and billing.

The General Manager (GM) is also responsible for helping to maintain a company safety culture by fostering a pleasant work environment, ensuring important levels of organizational effectiveness, and communication.

This position requires strong leadership abilities along with performing a varied mix of administrative tasks to ensure safe and efficient operations daily. This business is dynamic, and customer volumes fluctuate daily. Must be a forward thinking and agile leader to adjust to business demands and fluctuations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


• Achieve performance goals with optimum safety, economy, efficiency, and effectiveness ensuring profitability of all departments.

• Establish and maintain operating budgets based on yearly projections from forecasts provided by historical data and departments input.

• Establish methods of ongoing controlled surveillance of both the quantitative and financial measurements compared to actual performance by month.

• Controlling expenses in all areas of the operation. The GM will be accountable to ensure all company policies and procedures are followed by team members in his/her charge and all are administered fairly and equitably.

• Prepare and conduct annual performance appraisals for all managers, supervisors, and team members directly reporting to this role to ensure equality and effectiveness.

• Selection, training, and positive motivation for a viable team to conduct company business.

• Must be in the field daily to provide leadership, supervise and oversight of all operations.

• Lead and manage team members directly, providing insight and follow up to all employees within the facility, establishing safety, performance, and quality standards.

• Monitor quality and quantity of all facets of the property, ensuring profitability.

• Sufficient experience or equivalent working knowledge and understanding of all operations and knowledge of overseeing the following commodities: Liquid Products, Dry Bulk Products, Liquid Chemicals, LPG, UCO, DEF, and hazardous materials via railroad operations.

• Manage and ensure a positive relationship between all our customers including but not limited to our rail partners, freight and logistics customers, and local maintenance vendors.

• Accountable for the planning, coordination, and implementation of all activities, maximizing efficiency ensuring profitability of the company.

• Accountable for maintenance and asset utilization. This will entail maintenance being performed on all equipment, routine evaluation of equipment utilization and capital improvement projects to maximize efficiency.

• Accountable for customer satisfaction through personal contact and management of systems providing accurate accountability in all products/services provided and billing.

• Accountable for the development, approval, and periodic review of operating procedures (SOP) for all facility activities. Maintain daily customer activity reports, as necessary. These will include all technical, operational, and support functions.

• Accountable for the development and adherence to our company safety plan, meetings and risk assessment compliance for local, environmental laws including the fire department, etc.

• Transloading experience highly preferred

Management experience in logistics transload or freight rail operating environment.
