Operations Manager – Gainesville, Florida
This is a working manager position:
This person must be a self starter, will be responsible for service work, deliveries, CUSTOMER SERVICE, Safety compliance, emergency calls and responsible growth in a new area for our company.
We are looking for a hands-on manager with experience preferably in the Propane Gas, Industrial Gas, Plumbing & Heating, HVAC, or Petroleum Products industry.
This multi-faceted position will require a solid background in Routing, Service Scheduling, Safety Compliance, and Customer Service.
This position will be responsible for overseeing & scheduling of our Propane Delivery Drivers and performing Gas Service calls when necessary.
We are looking for an individual with a strong supervisory background, preferably in the Propane Gas, Utility Natural Gas, Fuel Oil, Industrial Plumbing, Gas Appliance Repair or Gas HVAC business.
Experience and Knowledge of Gas Plumbing, Appliance Repair, Propane Heating and other fuels is a big PLUS!
Job Description/Responsibilities:
The Operations Supervisor (Trainee) role is a developmental leadership position designed to prepare you to support full operational oversight of the Gainesville branch by the second quarter of 2026.
You will begin by shadowing and training under our Lead Service Technician and Branch Manager to gain hands-on knowledge of service, installations, and compliance standards.
This position bridges field operations with a supervisor role. This position ensures propane deliveries, service calls, and installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company SOPs, FDACS, NFPA and DOT requirements.
Your primary duties will include:
• Conducting routine inspections, including leak checks, and preventive maintenance on propane systems.
• Complete customer site inspections, produce estimates, and create work orders.
• Installing propane (aboveground) tanks and piping systems in residential and commercial settings.
• Become proficient with the back-office version of Cargas Energy and Microsoft Office products including but not limited to Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Support the inside sales team with their objectives
• Coordinate the installation of underground tanks with sub-contractors as needed.
• Deliver fuel oil, gasoline or propane to residential and commercial customers as needed, including delivery
• of propane cylinders and cages.
• Support on-call hours for after-hours emergencies/gas shutoff.
• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Providing exceptional customer service and educating clients on propane safety and usage.
• Documenting all service and maintenance activities accurately.
• Assisting branch manager with customer escalations and issues.
• Responsible for managing fleet vehicle maintenance, registration, and necessary inspections including VK
• inspection, DOT inspection, and crane inspections as applicable.
• Responsible for bulk storage facility workplace organization regarding parts and supplies including tanks,
• regulators, piping, and consumables.
• Provide training for new hires regarding service and delivery in accordance with Sea Breeze policies
