Job Description:
Operations Manager - East Central MI (Thumb Area)
Gladwin, Midland, Bay City, Marlette, Yale and Pigeon, Michigan.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
• Conduct propane and bulk plant safety inspections to include inspection of completed safety and service forms.
• Identify corrective actions and implement follow up assessments.
• Serve as a technical source of information for propane operations employees in the field.
• Spot check equipment for potential safety defects or DOT violations
• Monitor driver/plant inspections to assure compliance to regulations.
• Review all cargo tank & vehicle inspection reports.
• Collaborates with management to develop and update Emergency Action Plan and Fire Safety Analysis
• Work with Managers to assure drivers can perform required ‘safety-sensitive’ duties: daily and monthly vehicle inspections, loading/unloading cargo tank vehicles, all emergency procedures, compliance with DOT regulations & company policy.
• Provides on-the-job training to Managers, bulk and propane operations employees
• Work with Managers to make certain the correct specification of equipment are being used when purchasing equipment.
• Present a positive image of Greendale Propane Partners and its Affiliates to the community and be knowledgeable about all products and services offered by company.
• Works with Upper management and plant level management to Plan, implement, and conduct preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
• Familiarity with office software and phone systems a plus.
• Must be able to continually evaluate changes in regulations and safety requirements relating to DOT regulations, HM regulations, and possibly other regulatory agencies.
• Ability and willingness to become propane (CETP) certified as determined by the state(s) served.
• Ability to travel overnight frequently to trainings, to train other personnel, and attend educational sessions.
• Ability and willingness to work with hazardous materials.
• At least three years of experience in transportation or related field.
• Preferred Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
